We are a team of professionally regulated Art Psychotherapists providing psychological support to individuals, groups and communities in East Anglia, London and the South East of England, UK. As well as the three founders of The Golden Yew Project shown below, we collaborate with an extended network of Art Psychotherapists across the UK.

Gabrielle Ereira-Guyer

A lifetime of involvement in the arts in various capacities has led Gabrielle to believe that engaging with the arts is a healthy human phenomenon.
For more than 22 years Gabrielle worked in Education with young people with emotional and learning difficulties teaching Art and Drama. This work led her to begin her rigorous psychotherapy training at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, (IATE) She is founder of a number of groups including a contemporary dance group and a community arts group.
A highly creative individual, with a breadth of experience in the fields of education, mental health and community arts, she works primarily in private practice, has worked psychotherapeutically in a variety of other settings including an NHS psychiatric ward.
Passionate about the power of psychotherapy, expression and the arts to change lives, she works with private clients, charities and business exploring various challenging and painful aspects of life.

Janey Cutting

Janey has a particular interest in non-verbal communication and sensory integration. With a background in music she has collaborated with artists from many disciplines, has studied ‘music in special education’ and has a degree in jazz.
Teaching the arts in Montessori schools led to an investigation of developmental theories, the power of play, intersubjective creativity and the imagination. Becoming an integrative arts psychotherapist has enabled a deeper understanding of the connection between artistic process, the therapeutic relationship and change.
During a life-threatening illness she gained insight to the therapeutic potential of the arts, and has since worked within the field of complex needs, including learning disabilities, addiction and trauma.
Janey's current clinical work draws on contemporary neuroscientific practices and she has found that working on self-regulation helps her clients to live more aware, meaningful and authentic lives. She is trained in transformative dream work and is a long-term mindfulness practitioner.
Eugene Hughes

Eugene’s work focuses on facilitating people’s innate creativity to create positive change in their lives. For over 20 years he has worked with individuals, groups, organisations and whole communities across the world to facilitate healing, transformation and growth.
His clinical practice combines psychodynamic psychotherapy with a range of creative techniques and practical tools to support people experiencing mental health issues including depression, abuse, anxiety, trauma, significant life-changes, loss of meaning and the search for purpose, gender and identity related issues.
As a highly experienced group facilitator, he has supported various groups, including LGBT and Migrant communities, international organisations and global leadership teams. Through his practice, he has developed a range of highly effective creative methods, tools and techniques to facilitate people through difficulties and conflicts towards positive change. Eugene also trains professionals in creative facilitation.
With a particular interest in the importance of nature in healing, transformation and wellbeing, Eugene bridges the world of psychotherapy with natural environments, leading wilderness retreats in Europe, Africa and the USA.
We are Integrative Arts Psychotherapists, which means we integrate a wide range of psychological theories in our practice. Our continuous professional development is key to our work to ensure we are up-to-date on the most recent and relevant research, theories and practices available.
